At Pet Intel., we are dedicated to enhancing the well-being and independence of individuals through our specialized Service Dog Training and Canine Assisted Therapy (CAT) programs.
Service Dog Training
As a proud member of the Canadian Association of Service Dog Trainers, we adhere to rigorous standards for testing and certification. Our approach focuses on professional assistance with self-training, empowering clients to train their own service dogs under expert guidance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Full ownership of a physically healthy dog.
- Capability to meet the dog's basic needs.
- Commitment to the time and responsibilities involved in training.
- Understanding that certification is not guaranteed.

Canine Assisted Therapy (CAT)
Our CAT program involves regular sessions with professionally trained Canine Behaviour Coaches and either a trained therapy dog or the client’s own pet. This therapy aims to assist individuals in coping with physical and mental challenges by leveraging the therapeutic benefits of canine companionship.
Benefits Include:
- Motivation for individuals undergoing physiotherapy.
- Enhanced social interactions for stroke patients.
- Increased feelings of safety and well-being for trauma victims.
- Stress reduction for caregivers.
- Support for individuals in addiction recovery.
- Assistance in emotional regulation for those recovering from brain injuries.
Research indicates that incorporating canines into therapy facilitates patient engagement and participation. These services are often approved by insurance as a therapeutic approach to recovery and can be combined with self-training a service dog with professional support.
